Monoblock cleaning

We receive more requests for monoblock cleaning and sealing than for any other surface. This is probably due the local climate that tends to make maintenance of monoblock surfaces a constant 'battle'.

Monoblock paving is usually laid on a level bed of screeded sand, which has been laid on top of a hard base. Once the monoblocks are laid, kiln dried sand is brushed into the joints to help stabilise the pavers and stop any lateral movement. Unfortunately, if the monoblocks are not sealed at this point it can quickly deteriorate over a period of months with weeds, moss, algae and lichen the most common problems.
